I want my paintings to evoke a feeling which transcends the literal subject that I have painted on the canvas. “Unstoppable” is not just a painting about beautiful decanter stoppers, although they are definitely beautiful! It’s a painting about effervescence - about spirits that can’t be contained - about a rising in spite of containers that are meant to hold us in. That’s right… that’s where my mind goes when I see decanter stoppers.
